I've been an ET for over 20 years, mostly self-taught. I've built test equipment, games, props, art projects, and anything else that strikes my fancy. Looking to learn embedded programming. I'm a member of OlyMEGA. Moving, and setting up my lab.
I wish to become skilled in embedded programming. My prior programming experience has been solder, Basic (long, long ago), and PIC assembly a couple of years ago for a school project. I have a long list of projects in the works that will be much simpler and much smaller using a microcontroller. My profile picture is of a proposed ESR/Low Ohms meter in a flat marker body.
No really, just got an Arduino a month ago and haven't played with it much yet. Wiring 42 LEDs Charlieplex-style for a roulette wheel art project. It will look like a glowing ball with a trail, not just LEDs switching from one to the next.
Yes. Lots of experience with a soldering iron, only a little with hot air. I will get more practice with hot air soldering after I finish moving. I also intend to build a temp controller for a convection toaster oven for soldering.
